Say goodbye to the traffic chaos at Ultadanga. If you are heading for the airport, now you can zoom on this newly constructed flyover to VIP Road. And if you are travelling to the city from VIP Road, you can zip on the 1.29-km-long speedway to EM Bypass. Chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, who inaugurated the flyover on Wednesday, acknowledged that how fast one can travel to the airport “is very important”. This flyover was necessary to bypass Ultadanga crossing, which gets impossibly clogged with 20,000 vehicles an hour during peak time. It took less than two years and 68 crore to build it .
