Villagers go fish hunting in a pond at Kallandiri village in Madurai as part of the community fish harvest festival - Meen Pidi Thiruvizha. As a rule, they do not sell the catch but share the bounty with the not-so lucky fishers. The festival is celebrated to stress the equal rights of villagers over common resources.
