Somewhere in Rajasthan....

A few weeks after the Bhanwari Devi scandal came to the fore and amid growing public perception that Rajasthan is suffering from a governance deficit, the entire council of ministers in the state resigned on Tuesday to enable chief minister Ashok Gehlot to carry out a cabinet reshuffle. “The decision was taken unanimously to strengthen the hands of the chief minister and enable him and the party high command to carry out the reshuffle that has been due for long,” state home minister Shanti Dhariwal said. “The CM can now constitute a new team as per his prerogative. We are all with him. We have full faith in him.” Gehlot, who left for Jodhpur to attend the funeral of former Congress minister Khet Singh Rathore, said, “It was my colleagues who wished to resign. The restructuring would be done soon now.’’
