The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has decided on a ‘broom’ as its election symbol for the upcoming Delhi assembly polls.
The party said the symbol suits the purpose for which they entered politics – cleaning the filth which has permeated into the government and legislature.“With this, the party has crossed the second milestone (after its registration) on its way to cleaning up the polity of the country,” it said in a statement.
Manish Sisodia, a leading member of the party who will be contesting from Patparganj in east Delhi, said the broom symbolizes dignity of labour. “The country needs a clean sweep of its corrupted main stream political parties,” he said.
AAP said it was happy that the Election Commission has allotted this symbol for all the 70 assembly constituencies of
