The Bombay high court will go completely digital this Independence Day, with the inauguration of its first e-court system.
Chief minister Prithviraj Chavan on August 15 will launch the facility which would make it easy for litigants and lawyers to file petitions digitally, without any paperwork. Advocates can submit arguments on computers. The court will be presided over by a judge too. It will initially take up company cases only and expand its coverage gradually.
Petitioners no more have to submit their documents physically, but can do so online. But initially, before the e-system is up and running, they can also submit the hard copies to ensure that their papers were not lost.
