Maximum City , Minimum Votes

Polling percentages in Mumbai and Thane showed a further dip after officials came out with the final tally, leaving heavyweights of every political party wondering where their pre-poll strategies to draw out voters had gone wrong and how the abysmally low turnout would affect the final results. Only 41.28% of Mumbai’s voters came out to vote on Thursday, an almost 6% plunge from the 2004 figure of 47.15%. The overall Mumbai-Thane polling percentage on Thursday, at 41.13%, was almost exactly similar to the Mumbai-only figure. This, too, was lower than the 2004 turnout of 44.35%. Leaders of every major party went into a huddle on Friday. The netas admitted to a growing schism between political parties and voters but some politicians also pointed fingers at the voters themselves, saying the latter did not have the right to criticise the system if they were not interested in changing it.

I did manage to vote.....
