Bharat Forge is the world's largest forging firm

Automotive components and forgings manufacturer Bharat Forge has emerged as the world’s largest forgings company with a forging capacity of 700,000 tonnes per year. The company has recently completed its capacity expansion at its Mundhwa (Pune) facilities to make 60,000 tonnes of non-auto forgings annually.It has also commissioned 70,000 tonnes per year facility at Baramati, also in the non-auto forgings segment. The company has a 240,000 tonnes per capacity for auto-forgings at Mundhwa itself, the rest spread over its facilities world-wide.The new plant at Mundhwa will be formally inaugurated on August 8, Bharat Forge chairman and managing director Baba Kalyani told the shareholders in the company’s annual general meeting . Kalyani said the company has identified infrastructure as the new thrust area for the company’s business development and is particularly looking at manufacturing forgings required by sectors such as power, oil and gas, mining, wind energy, railways, marine and aerospace.
