Maharashtra sanctions 4 more SEZs

SEZ-rich Maharashtra, that has as many as 129 sanctioned SEZs, got a little richer. Corporates like Parsvnath Developers, Eldeco Infrastructure, Ajanta Projects and Ramky Infrastructure have won the bids for four special economic zones proposed by Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services (IL&FS) and Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) as joint venture in the state. IL&FS and MIDC had entered into a JV to develop four SEZs, one each in Amravati, Nanded and two in Nagpur. IL&FS-MIDC JV will hold a 26% stake in each SEZ while the rest will be offered to a strategic partner. The total expected investment in these SEZ will be in the range of Rs 5,000 to Rs 8,000 crore.Eldeco Infrastructure and Projects won the bid for a 1,010 hectare multi-product SEZ in Amravati while Ajanta Projects, in consortium with SKS Ispat and Pratibha Syntex, won the bid for 147 hectare of textile SEZ at Butibori in Nagpur.
