State Elections announced

A divided Election Commission decided to postpone the decision on holding assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir by a few days. The Commission announced a schedule spread over November and December for elections to the Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Mizoram and Rajasthan assemblies.The final call on the Jammu and Kashmir election dates will be taken in the “next two or three days”, a top Election Commission source said. Governor’s Rule in the state ends on January 9.
