Worli - Haji Ali sealink update

The MSRDC has floated tenders for the selection of an independent consultant to oversee the construction of the over Rs 5,000 crore Worli-Haji Ali section of the sea link. According to MSRDC officials, the independent consultant will monitor the progress of the construction and iron out problems by acting as a mediator between the government and the bridge builders.
The bridge is being built on a PPP basis by Reliance Infra. “The consultant has a very important role to play. Any dispute between the MSRDC and the contractor, Reliance Infra, will have to be sorted out by the consultant, who will be paid by Reliance Infra,’’ an official said. Construction is likely begin by December, said MSRDC officials.
