Bihar automobile sale up 45 pc this year

Automobile sales in Bihar have grown 45 per cent to 1,33,000 in the last 11 months of the current year, against 92,147 sold in the same corresponding period.At a time when most of the states have reported a decline of 20-25 per cent in the automobile sales, Bihar registered a jump of nearly 41,000 vehicle sales in the last 11 months of the current year, deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi said."The rise in sales figure of vehicles in the state at the rate of 45 per cent shows that the recession has not affected the sector at all in the state," Modi said.The rising trend of vehicle sales continued even in the month of November as the month reported 19,729 vehicle sales in different categories, whereas 15,326 vehicles were sold in the same period of the last year, he said.The department has registered a growth of 28.02 per cent in revenue collection in the last 11 months of the current year as the department has mopped up Rs 192.01 croreagainst Rs 149.99 crore in the corresponding period of last year.
