Delayed Deadlines....

Mumbai Metro’s second line will run from Charkop-Bandra -Mankhurd. Bids for the 32-km long second line could be worth over Rs 8,000 crore. Deadline for submitting bids is January 29, 2009, but three companies, including Essar India and Reliance Infrastructure, have asked MMRDA for an extension in the date. Among the bidders, Essar India has a tie-up with Alstom of France, Tata Power with Mitsubishi Corporation of Japan, Reliance Infrastructure with SNC Lavalin Inc of Canada, Reliance Industries with Siemens AG of Germany and GVK Power and Infrastructure has a tie-up with Bombardier Transportation, USA.
The Worli-Haji Ali sealink is the next section of the Bandra-Worli link The Bandra-Worli sealink project, being executed by Hindustan Construction Company (HCC), is in its final leg and is expected to be ready by March 2009 The Rs 3000-crore sealink will be 3.6-km long. Deadline for submitting bids has been extended once from November 28 to December 8 and now to December 26, but companies want more time. Companies in the fray for the project include the two Reliance factions headed by Mukesh and Anil Ambani, HCC, L&T, Shapoorji Pallonji, IL&FS, India Bulls, Tata Realty, GVK, Soma Enterprises, Gammon India and a few others, alongwith their multinational partners.
