Speed limit on the sealink

The Maharashtra state government has fixed 100 kmph as the speed limit for all vehicles on the Bandra-Worli Sealink, except at the Worli connector curve where the limit will be 40 kmph. The limits have been fixed on the basis of traffic safety studies. Speed guns—to be installed at 1-km intervals—will register violations and offenders would be fined at either end of the sealink. The link is expected to be commissioned any time after June 2 after the model code of conduct is lifted. The link has been built by Hindustan Construction Company Limited.
