NaMo hikes FSI in Rajkot, Jamnagar

Rajkot and Jamnagar skylines will soon get taller. This would become a possibility in the wake of chief minister Narendra Modi announcing an increase in the floor space index (FSI).
“The state government has decided to approve a 25 per cent increase in the FSI for the benefit of common people,” said Modi while making the announcement for Rajkot. The decision has been welcomed by Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC). The FSI in the area that is technically termed as Rajkot city area will go up from 2.0 to 2.5. In ‘other’ area it will go up from 1.50 to 1.87.
Real estate developers are also happy with the decision.
A similar announcement was also made by Modi for Jamnagar. “We have approved FSI increase in Jamnagar. At present construction of ground floor plus three floors is allowed but now we will allow construction of an additional floor,” he said.
