The Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), the information technology (IT) arm of the Indian Railways has launched Rail Radar, which allows the public to track train movement.
The Rail Radar system is primarily aimed at disseminating information about all the running trains at any point of time.
Railyatri.in, a start-up has partnered with the Railways to provide real-time train information.
The Railways also aims to enable GPS tracking on the entire network.
CRIS plans to install GPS devices in 10,000 locomotives.
