Somewhere in Kabul....

About 100 Delhi-bound flyers had a narrow escape at Kabul when militants launched a rocket attack in the airport as a SpiceJet Boeing 737 was getting ready for takeoff. The rocket hit a hangar.
“Kabul rocket attack near runway today aimed at military target. SpiceJet pax (passengers), crew, aircraft safe,“ SpiceJet COO Sanjiv Kapoor tweeted. That the rocket hit a `military target' quelled initial fears of the Indian airliner being targeted, coming as it did after the strikes on the Indian embassy in Kabul in the recent past.
The attack, which came close on the heels of a terror strike on Karachi airport and a shootout at Peshawar airport, led to the closure of Kabul airport for a few hours. The runway was shut down as were refuelling facilities. The SpiceJet flight, SG 22, took off at 3 pm (Kabul local time) instead of the scheduled 11.40 am and landed here in the evening.
SpiceJet will continue its operations to Afghanistan.
