The Mahindra Xylo is here

Mahindra and Mahindra has, for just the second time in its history (after the Mitsubishi-licensed Voyager), moved into MPV space and this time round it intends to make not just a telling impact but also that the Xylo as this species is known by, is also the most accomplished automobile it has ever built. The most important new automobile launch of the year took place in the sprawling M&M plant at Nashik on Tuesday when the wraps came off the all new Xylo. In development for the better part of four years, this vehicle is the company’s first all new offering after its Scorpio and is significant in that it was conceived, designed and developed in-house by a very young team of engineers and product planners. The Xylo is the first genuine MPV from an Indian car maker and features a very simple design which might not win any beauty contests but comes across as an honest performer. However it is in its practical appeal and versatility that the beauty within emerges to the fore. Built on a brand new body-on-chassis structure, the Xylo is a marvel of packaging and shares next to no body or suspension part with the Scorpio or any other M&M UVs.
