Aranmula Airport update

Conceived with an eye on the huge NRI population in the central Travancore belt, the work on the private airport at Aranmula would begin from January, KGS Group, the promoters of the airport announced.
The actualization of the project, rolled out during the tenure of the LDF government, had kicked up controversies with the land acquisition, with many environmentalists alleging that the Kerala Conservation of Paddy land and Wetland Act 2008 was being blatantly violated for the project.
The state has expressed interest in being a shareholder in the project with the government deciding to hold 10% shares of the project and the power to nominate the chairman of the board, said Gigi George, managing director of KGS Group, and P T Nandakumar, executive director of the group.
The project will generate direct employment to 1,500 people and indirect employment to more than 6,000. The Rs 2,000-crore project will become operational from 2014.

Dear, How can you Quote Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru and talk about implementing Aranmula Airport which is born and brought up in corruption and pushed through undemocratic ways and all round violations of statutes and laws?
