A Rs.30,000 crore six-lane highway connecting Mumbai to Nagpur will be built by September 2019, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis has announced in the state legislature. It will have facilities such as CCTV , WiFi, optical fibres and will be known as super-communication highway .Like the Mumbai-Pune Expressway , this too will have controlled access. Fadnavis said that the super-communication highway will be constructed through a joint venture with the Centre.
“It will connect north Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha with Mumbai and give impetus to the development of these regions like the Mumbai-Pune Expressway did for Pune. Commuters will be able to travel the distance in 10 hours,“ he said.
