J-K is last state to adopt GST

The goods and services tax will truly be a one country, one tax system. J-K, the only state not to have launched GST on July 1, saw its assembly and council adopting a resolution on Wednesday to implement the tax despite resistance from opposition parties and traders, reports Saleem Pandit. The opposition had demanded that J-K have its own GST, but state FM Haseeb Drabu said that would require amending the Constitutions of J-K and India.
