A UK magazine has voted Jaipur as the seventh best city in Asia to visit, giving it a clear lead over Tokyo, Hanoi and Beijing.No other Indian city features in the list that Conde Nast Traveller prepared after polling 32,000 respondents across the world. Bangkok has been voted the best city in Asia, followed by Hong Kong and Chiang Mai in Thailand. Rajasthan has also scored on hotels with Oberoi Udaivilas in Udaipur has been chosen as the highest rated hotel in Asia while Oberoi Rajvilas in Jaipur made it to the fifth spot. The results, though not the first of its kind for a state known for its tourism sector, has boosted the morale in the state’s tourism sector that took a hit after the May 13 terror attacks and just as the peak tourist season was taking off was affected by the global slump.
