Somewhere near Gurgaon....

Home to thousands of migratory birds, the lake at Sultanpur National Park, 15km from Gurgaon, has dried up. Its fish have all died, raising a stink in the area. Bird watchers say the lake has never been dry and blamed the state government for the situation. Authorities say very little water was released this year into the canal which feeds the lake due to the drought and Gurgaon’s growing water demand. According to Haryana’s chief wildlife warden, rampant construction around the lake’s rainwater catchment area has worsened the situation.
