Delhi Airport Metro snippets

Trains running on the Delhi Airport Express Metro line will now be slower, resulting in passengers taking more time to reach IGI airport.
Urban development minister Kamal Nath informed the Lok Sabha that train services will resume but at reduced speed of 80 kmph, which is considered “safe.” In a written reply, Nath submitted that before the services on this line were suspended, trains were running at 80 kmph since February due to breakage of clips. It also mentioned that at 80 kmph, cases of breakage were 10-12 clips per day and could be immediately replaced during non-operational hours.
Sources in the Delhi Airport Metro Express Pvt Ltd (DAMEPL) claimed that though the trains on this track were allowed to run at 120 kmph, they were being operated at 105 kmph before February.
The UD ministry also said DAMEPL had appointed Hong Kong Technical University for an analysis of the damaged clips . “The consultant has undertaken various measurements to find out the cause behind failure of the clips. No report has been submitted by the consultant about the findings,” he added.
