Another important milestone was crossed by the Hyderabad Metro Rail project with the construction wing of L&T completing casting 1,000 segments. These precast segments which are joined together atop the metro rail pillars form the viaduct to accommodate two railway tracks. The normal distance between two metro rail pillars is 31m (101 feet) and 11 segments will cover this distance.
