Somewhere in Bangalore....

Debunking the notion that he is anti-Bangalore, chief minister Siddaramaiah announced a Rs 908-crore package for the capital. He said he would restore the city’s glory but was silent on when the makeover would be completed.
The slew of projects announced includes 400 km of road development (which includes filling up the city’s potholes), signal-free corridors and special focus on sprucing up roads in core areas. No deadlines were announced for their completion. All that Siddaramaiah said was they would be completed within a few months.
Bangalore’s minister-incharge R Ramalinga Reddy promised major roads would be asphalted by January. Incidentally, in August, the state had reduced the BBMP budget by Rs 900 crore citing poor revenue collection.
The CM, who laid the foundation for a number of road works, denied that he is anti-Bangalore. “There is no politics when it comes to the city’s development. I understand Bangalore is not limited to Karnataka but has an international stature. Many companies want to invest in Bangalore. They should not shy away after looking at the roads (filled with potholes) here. We will change the picture... in a few months. My government will bring back the glory of IT City,” he added.
