The north- and south-bound ramps connecting Anik Wadala Road to Eastern Freeway will be opened for vehicular traffic on Sunday.
MMRDA said that it has completed construction of bridges across Mahul creek and approach roads on either side of the elevated portion for entry and exit at Anik Wadala Link Road.
MMRDA’s joint project director (public relations) Dilip Kawathkar said, “These ramps can be used for to and fro movement towards north (Chembur, Vashi, Navi Mumbai and further). For movement to and from south (CST) ramps can be used by taking a U-turn from under the RCF flyover.” MMRDA has installed road signages to lead motorists to these ramps.
The Rs.1,463-crore Eastern Freeway will open in its entirety up to Ghatkopar in the third week of April. The 2.5-km portion of the Freeway from Chembur to Ghatkopar-Mankhurd Link Road is nearing completion. Once thrown open, it will benefit motorists from Ghatkopar as well as those travelling to Thane and beyond.
