Kosi embankment to be repaired

India and Nepal have agreed to start reconstruction of the damaged Kosi embankment in January after the water level recedes and decided to expedite the work on two major power projects. The officials agreed to expedite work on repairing a barrage, taking flood control measures and stopping inundation at the earliest. They also decided to speed up work on the 5,600 MW Pancheshwor hydro power project and 3,300 MW Saptakoshi high dam project, which were long pending,
