Split India : Chinese think tank

India may have survived doomsday predictions—once a favourite pastime of the west—of its balkanisation, but that doesn’t seem to have deterred the Chinese from wishing it would splinter. On Tuesday, the government here took exception to an article on a quasi-official Chinese website, which boasted that the “great Indian federation’’ was ripe for dismemberment if Beijing tried just a little. Posted on April 8 on the website, iiss.cn (International Institute for Strategic Studies), the article detailed a roadmap for breaking up India. “To split India, China can bring into its fold countries like Pakistan, Nepal and Bhutan, support ULFA in attaining its goal for Assam’s independence, back aspirations of Indian nationalities like Tamils and Nagas, encourage Bangladesh to give a push to the independence of West Bengal and lastly recover the 90,000 sq km territory in southern Tibet,’’ the write-up said. The article, echoing a school of thought that was popular in the west for a couple of decades after Indian independence, went on to state that the country never really existed as a nation in history. It was held together by the Hindu religion which was “decadent’’ since it encouraged the caste system and exploitation. “In view of the above, China in its own interest and the progress of whole Asia, should join forces with different nationalities like the Assamese, Tamils, and Kashmiris, and support the latter in establishing independent nation-states of their own, out of India,’’ the article said. The ardent hope has been sought to be justified by using the rhetoric of change. “Only after India has been broken up into 20-30 pieces will there be any real reform or social change in the country,’’ the article, meant for Chinese audience, emphasised.

I think Chinese think-tanks are fools. It is very much easier to split India than they think, because today’s India is very much fragile than pre-independence era, at that time British rulers had divided Indian society into two parts i.e. Hindu & Muslim but post-independence era, present rulers have divided Indian society into many parts i.e. Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, ST, SC, OBC, General, Creamy layer OBC, Men, Women the list is endless. If British can take advantage of divide & rule policy & rule India for 200 years, when the Indian society was divided only into two parts, so Chinese can think how many years they/anyone can rule India when its society have been divided so badly. I think today most of the Indian people have become highly indifferent towards who rule them, so even Chinese can rule us an already divided society & I hope Chinese would be not as poor ruler as our present ruler are!!...................

Mr. Bharat is dis d kranti u wish to bring.....shame on you . The chinese are not fools but a bit mistaken abt India. They say dat d country states(in wich dey wish 2 break us) had only hindu religion in common but dey fail to understand wat dis religion actually is. It has survived from times wen china didn't evn exist....its born out of philosophy of spirituality wich evolved over d yrs & sometimes gave birth 2 other religions like Sikhism,Jainism & most importantly Budhism wich China has followed ever since. By d strong force of spirituality India stands united despite all d social evils like caste & other discriminations. The feeling & sense of Humanity in India is far gr8r than any social problem so these discriminatory divisions just dont matter. I think as a gud Indian wid just a day left 4 our Independence day we shud condemn these social problems & not our Integrity.
