Hyderabad Metro : Financial bids’ submission date extended

The Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) has extended the last date for submission of financial bids (Request for Proposal) by another 45 days. The deadline has been extended from April 21 to June 7, 2010. A decision to this effect was taken by authorities on the request of prospective bidders during a meeting .The developers sought time as they are yet to complete traffic potential studies, financial modelling and other works for the project. For the Rs 12,132-crore metro rail project, eight consortia—Transstroy-OJSC Transstroy-CR 18G-BEML consortium, Reliance Infrastructure-Reliance Infocomm, Lanco Infratech-OHL Concesiones SL, Essar-Leighton-Gayatri-VNR consortium, GMR Infrastructure Ltd, GVK-Samsung C&T Corporation, Soma-Strabag AG (Austria) and Larsen & Toubro Ltd—had pre-qualified. The project is being taken up under design, build, finance, operate and transfer basis and Request for Qualification (RFQ) was called in July 2009 inviting bids. Due to various reasons, the date for submission of bids was extended four times since September 15. The shortlisted consortia were announced in January 2010.
