Delhi Airport Metro Express snippets

Almost six months after the Airport Metro Express was shut down by the concessionaire over safety issues, it got the green signal on Friday with a rider — the “high-speed” train service will run at 50 kmph, compared to the 105 kmph that Reliance Infra had begun with.
The corridor was equipped to handle speeds of 120kmph.
The journey from Connaught Place to Terminal 3 of IGI Airport will now take at least half an hour, against the earlier 18-20 minutes. No date has been set for the reopening yet.
The approval comes after a two-day safety audit by the commissioner of metro rail safety (CMRS), R K Kardam. Sources said the CMRS clearance came with the speed limit of 50 kmph but it would be increased gradually after periodic inspection by Delhi Metro authorities.
