Mysore gets air connectivity back

Makara Sankranti has brought good tidings for Mysore. The tourist hub got back its air connectivity more than a year after it was suspended. At 1.03 pm, the inaugural Spice-Jet flight from Chennai arrived at Mysore airport via Bangalore putting the tourist city back in the loop of Tier-II cities with air connectivity.
The passengers who arrived at the workable airport were greeted to traditional music along with ellu-bella, a preparation of sesame and jaggery made during Sankranti.  Senior SpiceJet executives arrived and inspected the facility, which is operating commercial flights after a gap of 14 months.
The thrice-a-week flight will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays till March 31. Apart from Bangalore, services to Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai too are expected. The bookings are quite good and we are getting enquiries, an executive attached to the private airliner said.
