Somewhere in J&K....

Hoping to nullify the anti-incumbency factor which could send him out of power after his five-year rule, Jammu & Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah has dropped hints that he is willing for a pre-poll alliance with the Congress before the assembly elections in the state in 2014. With such a move, he also hopes to keep PDP away from becoming Congress’s new partner and form the next government.
State Congress sources said Omar, who heads the National Conference, has intelligence reports that his party is losing ground. The Congress, which received a jolt due to communal riots in Kishtwar in Jammu, is the only option Omar has for an alliance.
The riots have seriously dented the Congress in Jammu, considered the bastion of the party, and given the BJP an edge.
