Tunda held

Syed Abdul Karim Tunda—the one-armed bomber who ranks among the top 20 “most wanted” terrorists in India and has been involved in a series of blasts in Mumbai, Delhi and other cities in the 90s—was arrested by Delhi police from near the Nepal border in Uttarakhand on Friday.
Tunda, whose name came to spell terror after he carried out a series of low-intensity blasts in Delhi between 1996 and 1998, was arrested while he was headed towards western Uttar Pradesh after crossing over from Nepal via Banwasa-Mahendranagar.
Besides the 24 blasts he had set off in Delhi, the notorious bomb-maker, who is aligned with the Lashkar-e-Taiba, was also wanted for the train blasts in Mumbai and Hyderabad in 1993 and explosions in Punjab, Gulbarga, Surat, Haryana, Lucknow and other parts of Uttar Pradesh.
Tunda (70), who was sheltered by his patrons in Pakistan, was nabbed by a team of special cell officers who have been monitoring his movements since he reached Nepal carrying a Pakistani passport which identified him as Abdul Quddus. Given that Tunda was among the first terrorists to be part of a countrywide jihadi network, the Delhi police hope to get a trove of information from him.
