BJP now has 11 crore members

BJP on Sunday claimed to have enrolled 11 crore members across the country as party president Amit Shah kick-started an outreach programme for its eight northern state units to connect with the newly inducted as well as the public.
Shah asked the cadres to aggressively counter the recent negative campaign against the Centre and in states with the positive work and policies of the government. “The party chief has given talking points on the Centre's achievements and policies and asked workers to campaign with it,“ BJP secretary Shrikant Sharma said.
“These 11 crore members will not be used as a means to gain political power but be made a partner in nation building,“ Shah said after launching the Mahasampark Abhiyan for the northern states, which was attended by Union ministers Harsh Vardhan, Birender Singh and J P Nadda, besides members from eight states.
Party general secretary (organization) Ram Lal said that their focus is to strengthen the party at the mandal level also. Asked if the Lalit Modi row and Vyapam case would have any impact on their morale, MP Meenakshi Lekhi said, “Everyone has their own agenda, media has its own agenda. But our agenda is of development and connecting with the people. “ On Bihar polls, BJP national secretary Bhupendra Yadav, who is in-charge of the state, said “We are looking to register a victory with a two-thirds majority ,“ he added.
