Race For 2016 TN Assembly Polls begins

The Pattali Makkal Katchi saw an image makeover on Sunday propped by an outdoor and media publicity blitzkrieg calling to `make a new Tamil Nadu'.The publicity drive was coupled with the launch of a portal http:www.anbumani4cm.com. Anbumani seemed to have more of his intended change in store during the speech he delivered at the public meeting in Coimbatore in the evening. In a bold declaration, given that Tamil Nadu's politics is interwoven with poll sops, Anbumani said PMK would not offer any freebies if the party came to power.
“We will teach people to fish, rather than provide them fish. We will bring schemes that will create jobs,“ Anbumani said in his speech which read like PMK's election manifesto. Unveiling PMK's grand plans to be implemented once the aprty comes to power, Anbumani said a Right to Public Service Act would be implemented and Lok Ayuktha would be established to provide a corruption-free rule.
“Similar to Right to Education and Right to Information, we will also urge Centre to implement Right to Health,“ he said. DMK treasurer M K Stalin or chief minister J Jayalalithaa would only think in term of freebies rather than development schemes, he said. “But, we will bring schemes that will generate jobs. For instance, we will create cooperative societies in villages and train youth in production, value addition, export and make them owners,“ he said. PMK would, however, offer free seeds, equipment and assistance free of cost to farmers for modern and organic farming, he said.
Ramadoss promised to improve Samcheer Kalvi and create better health infrastructure and an integrated transport system on the lines of Japan. Medical tourism would be promoted in Coimbatore besides industries, he said. “PMK will ensure a 30-day single window clearance for industrial units,'' he said.
Stating that people of Tamil Nadu have given opportunity to “Kalaignar, an actor and actress“ to rule them, Anbumani appealed to the public to give an opportunity to “a young, educated doctor“ to govern the state. “Youth yearn for a change. We have come to provide that change.Give us five years, we will offer you growth that could be achieved in 50 years,“ he said.
Listing out the evils of alcohol abuse, he said the first order by a PMK government would be for total prohibition.“Only PMK can bring total prohibition,“ he said. With chief ministerial ambitions soaring, Anbumani Ramadoss hopes to make inroads into the Kongu belt. Anbumani, his father Ramadoss senior and party president G K Mani have been frequenting the textile city for the past one year preparing the ground for the party's expansion from the Vanniar heartland of Dharmapuri to Gounder dominated Coimbatore.
