Apollo Hospitals Enterprises chalks out a Rs.1,400 Crore expansion

Apollo Hospitals Enterprises has chalked out an investment of Rs 1,400 crore to add about 2,300 beds over the next 18-24 months across the country.The healthcare services firm seeks to maintain double-digit growth in the coming years. The envisaged expansion will see Apollo Hospitals creating additional beds across different categories in Chennai (225 beds), Hyderabad (500), Visakhapatnam (220) and its foray into cities such as Navi Mumbai (330), Thane (220), Bhubaneshwar (220) as also in Tiruchi and Nellore.
Apollo Hospitals at present has about 4,000 beds across the country. It is consolidating its businesses in metros and expanding in tier II cities. A major chunk of expansion will take place in southern India. The hospital chain has so far spent about Rs 120 crore in acquiring land. The expansion will be funded through equity, debt and internal accruals.
