Blue Foods on the fast track

Mumbai based food and beverages retail chain Blue Foods will open more than 100 restaurants and food courts within next 12-18 months as part of its efforts to make a pan-India presence.
Blue Foods, a Rs 100-crore business, already has 100 outlets in 15 cities. The chain plans to launch retail formats in all the metros and tier-II cities such as Indore, Surat and Coimbatore. It also expects to double its turnover once the new outlets become operational.
The retail chain is looking to increase its footprint across India.
Blue Food group expects Rs 80 lakh to Rs 1 crore investment for each of the new outlets, depending upon the format size and factors such as real estate costs. It had recently opened a few outlets in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Delhi and Chennai.
The planned outlets would be spread over a minimum of 2,500sq-ft and would be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Each eatery would have a seating capacity of more than 100 and the menu would have a wide range of Indian, Continental, Italian, Lebanese and Mexican cuisine on offer.
