It's Crayons again for Congress in Maharashtra

Maharashtra's contending coalitions have yet to formally arrive at a seat-sharing formula for the October 13 Assembly elections in the state, but they have begun an exercise to finalise the character of their print and media campaign. The Congress has roped in ad agency Crayons for its campaign while it has appointed Perfect Relations for its PR. Last October, Crayons had beaten JWT to bag the contract from the Congress for the general elections held in May .
Crayons made a comprehensive presentation on Tuesday night to chief minister Ashok Chavan and Union power minister Sushil Kumar Shinde who is the election campaign committee chief.
A Congress insider said the party is expected to spend anywhere between Rs 20 crore to Rs 50 crore for its campaign. "The campaign will focus on the aam aadmi, investment plans of the Congress-led government for the makeover of Mumbai and other infrastructure projects in Maharashtra. Besides, it will feature sops to farmers, minorities and tribals,"he added.
On the other hand, the NCP, which is yet to recover from its unspectacular performance in the recent general elections, has shortlisted the Sakal Group and Paramin. The NCP, which awaits the Congress response for an electoral tie-up, is in the midst of finalising candidates for all 288 seats.
