No returning Kohinoor : Cameron

British PM David Cameron regretted the Jallianwala Bagh massacre of 1919.
Although Cameron, who also made a trip to the Golden Temple, had put Amritsar on his itinerary with an eye on the Sikh vote in Britain, his remarks could end up re-opening wounds rather than acting as a balm. In the visitor’s book, Cameron wrote: “We must never forget what happened here,” twice underlining the word ‘never’. “And in remembering, we must ensure that the UK stands up for the right of peaceful protest around the world.”
Meanwhile, Cameron also rejected a demand for the return of the Kohinoor diamond, saying, “I certainly don’t believe in returnism.”
