Twenty agencies and corporate consortia have met the top officers of City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Limited (Cidco) regarding the global bidding for the Rs.15,000 crore Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) project.
Cidco vice-chairman and managing director, Sanjay Bhatia, told the agency heads that there will be no air-traffic constraint on the NMIA and the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA); and that the Navi Mumbai airport could operate simultaneously and independently. The Director General of Civil Aviation and the ministry of civil aviation have already cleared the project, added Bhatia. “By June 18 this year, the Request For Qualification (RFQ) process will be over. The winning bidder will be declared by the end of this year,” said a Cidco spokesperson.
A global tender advertisement was published on February 5 this year.Till date, CIDCO has till date received 176 queries and they will be answered individually by mail. The bidders can still ask any more clarification till April 25.
