Delhi Metro update


With over 95% of civil work done on the Jahangirpuri-Faridabad line, Delhi Metro is hoping to complete the 13.87 km-long stretch by May next year. The first part of the stretch--till Badli in Delhi--is expected to be completed by March.
On the Jahangirpuri-Faridabad corridor, 80% of the track work and more than 70% of electrification of overhead line has been finished.Work on signalling will go on simultaneously. The corridor will have three stations in Delhi--Badli Mor, Rohini Sector 18 and Samaipur Badli. The line till Badli will be commissioned soon after.
The extension till Badli is 4.3 km long and will cover areas like Jahangirpuri, GT Karnal Road, Rohini, Transport Nagar and Badli
There will be nine more stations: Sarai, NHPC Chowk, Mewala Maharajpur, Sector 28, Badkal Mor, Old Faridabad, Neelam Chowk Ajronda, Bata Chowk and Escorts Mujesar. The ridership for this line is expected to be 1.94 lakh by 2016.This corridor as well as other corridors under Phase III will be on a standard gauge. The cost of the project--estimated at Rs.2,533 crore --will be contributed by the government of Haryana (Rs.1,588.60 crore), government of India (Rs.544.60 . crore) and DMRC (Rs.400 crore).
In Phase IV , the Badli Mor station will be an interchange station with the proposed RK Ashram-Mukundpur­-Janakpuri (West) section.
