Mahindra and Mahindra, India's largest utility vehicle maker, has launched an all-new micro SUV , the KUV 100, at an aggressive price point of Rs.4.42 lakh to Rs.6.76 lakh ex-showroom Pune, aimed at first time car buyers.
Anand Mahindra, chairman of M&M, said through a video message that KUV is a new inflection point for the company.
Mahindra claims the KUV 100 is the most fuel efficient sports utility vehicle (SUV) in the country , delivering a fuel efficiency of 25.32 km litre for diesel, and 18.15 km litre for petrol.
Powered by an all-new 1.2 litre petrol engine and 1.2 litre common rail diesel engine, the vehicle is based on a new monocoque architecture, which has been developed with an investment of close to Rs.1,200 crore over a period of 4 years by 350 engineers.
“It proves that we are an end-to-end player, and also establishes that Mahindra has a serious petrol offering,“ said Pawan Goenka, executive director of M&M.
