No selfies please!

On a surprise visit to Allahabad after 14 years, Congress president Sonia Gandhi politely turned down requests for selfies from visitors and party functionaries, and advised them to “not go Modi style“ and to “come and get a group photograph“ instead. The requests for photographs were made when Congress workers and visitors flocked to the iconic Anand Bhawan on Saturday morning, which Sonia visited after a two-day constituency visit to Rae Bareli. The Congress president was strolling in the lawns of Anand Bhawan, ancestral home of the Nehrus, when photographers made a beeline for her, and requested her to pose for pictures.
Sonia reached Allahabad on Friday and stayed at Swaraj Bhawan, the ancestral family home. Party workers said this was a private visit. On the second day of her visit to the city she went to see family memorabilia housed within the double-storey Anand Bhawan, where she spent about 20 minutes.
This is the third time Sonia has made a night halt at Swaraj Bhawan. In 1999, she stayed there for three days, while in 2002, she visited Allahabad during the Kumbh . During her interaction with party workers, Sonia urged them to prepare for former PM Indira Gandhi's birth centenary celebrations beginning on November 19.UPCC spokesman Kishore Varshney said, “Indira Gandhi was born on November 19, 1917 in Allahabad. The party has big plans for the occasion and could rename Swaraj Bhawan after Indira Gandhi.“
