Mumbai-Nagpur Communication Highway snippets

Maharashtra state government's road development agency , MSRDC, has approved the appointment of consultants for the Mumbai-Nagpur Communication Highway and for development of land parcels along the Mumbai-Pune Expressway .
A senior official said, “A decision was taken during MSRDC's board meeting on Wednesday . The detailed project report for the 800 km Mumbai-Nagpur Communication Highway is being prepared in five packages. We have already appointed three consultants a few months ago and the other two were appointed today .“ The board has also appointed the consultant to prepare a report for the development of land parcels to provide more amenities to Mumbai-Pune Expressway users besides bringing in additional revenue to MSRDC. The six-lane expressway from Nagpur to Mumbai will pass through Amravati and Aurangabad, and will have modern communication facilities. The government plans to set up IT parks and smart cities along the route.
With an investment of Rs.30,000 crore, it is expected to be completed by 2019.
