Of Industrial Entrepreneurship Memorandums....

The Centre has ranked Karnataka as the third highest contributor towards the implementation of the Make in India concept. While the numbers have been disputed, with industry representatives claiming they may be inflated, and the state industries department saying they are under reported, Karnataka has nonetheless achieved a substantial realization of the concept mooted by the NDA government.
The figures and ranking, as released by minister of state (independent charge), commerce and industry , Nirmala Sitharaman, in the Rajya Sabha, cite Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh as the top two states in realizing Industrial Entrepreneurship Memorandums (IEMs) that are key for the Make In India concept.
As per data, Karnataka has realized 37 cases of IEMs with private companies and generated Rs.15,581 crore from January 1, 2015, to March 31, 2016. However, leading the charts, Maharashtra generated a whopping Rs.53,438 crore by realizing 82 cases of IEMs. Gujarat is a distant fourth with only Rs.8,474 crore generated, with 117 cases of IEMs being realized.
