IIM-Trichy



Come June 2017, one of the top IIMs in the country will be moving to a state-of the-art facility that is being constructed at a cost of Rs.584 crore in 175 acres on the Trichy-Pudukottai road. Construction is on in full swing; the work has been taken up by one of the top construction companies through the Central Public Works Department. The Indian Institute of Management Trichy has raised the bar by involving world renowned architects and engineers to set up one of the best campuses in the country .
IIM-T is the 11th premier management institution that was established by the central government under the ministry of human resource Development. Launched in June 2011, the institute is at present functioning on a temporary campus at the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli.
IIM-Trichy director Prafulla Agnihotri said the foundation stone was laid by the then HRD minister Kapil Sibal on January 4, 2011 at Chinna Suriyur village on land provided by the government of Tamil Nadu .
Said Prafulla, who constantly visits the area and carries out detailed inspection of the works, “most of the buildings academic block, administrative block, faculty housing, student housing, staff housing and food court are nearing completion. In some buildings, the contractor has even completed the furnishing work.“
The complex will have world class amenities, with separate hostels for men and women to accommodate about 400 students, staff quarters and a recreation club.
The IIM-Trichy offers across its two campuses in Trichy and Chennai post graduate programme in management (PGP), a two year full-time residential programme; fellow programme in management (FPM), for doctoral candidates; post graduate programme in business management (PGPBM), a threeyear part-time programme for working executives on the Chennai campus; and post graduate programme in human resource management (PGPHRM).
