Billion-dollar cruise liner Ovation docks in Kochi

The second-largest luxury cruise liner in the world called at Cochin Port on Wednesday morning with nearly 5,800 people, including 4,000 passengers and 1,800 crew.
The cruise liner, Ovation of the Seas, arrived from Muscat, UAE, as part of its 52 night maiden 'Global Odyssey'. The liner will be in Kochi for two days before leaving for Penang in Malaysia, its next port of call.
“The ship was launched recently in February this year. Kochi is the only port in India that the vessel will vi sit during its maiden world tour. The Kerala tourism department has organized a tour of Kochi, Alappuzha and Kumarakom for passengers before it sets sail on Friday morning,“ said a Cochin Port Trust (CPT) official.
The billion-dollar smart ship, Ovation, is owned by Royal Caribbean International Company .
