Gujarat decides against e-voting

Failing to get response from the voters across the six municipal corporations, the Gujarat government has decided to cancel the e-voting process in the forth coming elections. Secretary P S Shah said that of the 186 wards in the six corporations, there were only 1,287 voters registered for voting from e-polling stations, while 342 have registered from voting using internet. Shah said that the evoting failed to get adequate response from the voters and hence the government decided to do away with voting from the e-polling stations in the corporation elections. Shah in a statement said that the registered voters are individually informed through their personal emails.
