North India shivers


Snow wraps Gulmarg in J&K’s Baramulla district on Sunday. The mercury in the skiing resort plunged to -12°C, making it the coldest night in the tourist spot this winter. But the record for the lowest temperature so far this season went to Leh which was freezing at -23.6°C. Srinagar recorded -2.4°C, while Delhi woke up to yet another chilly morning as the maximum temperature dropped to 14.6°C, six degrees below normal. Five more cold wave deaths were reported from UP, taking the toll in the state to 24.
