West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee hinted that the Lok Sabha elections could be held early — in 2013 and asked Trinamool Congress workers to ready for the polls. She claimed a political party recently held a meeting in Delhi to advance the Lok Sabha polls to 2013. “I have information. I am not going into details of who were present at the meeting. They discussed advancing the Lok Sabha polls to 2013,” Mamata said while addressing party workers following the election of Subrata Bakshi as state Trinamool president. “We can face election any day. We have to remain ready,” she said.
Mamata also asked party leaders to avoid talking to the media. “My motto is simple: talk less, work more. You work for the people, let others do the talking. There are some who will only talk. It is they who’ve always tried to portray Trinamool in bad light,” she said. She also warned party workers against activities that could harm her government. “For one or two people, the party will not accept any criticism. I will not let that happen,” she said.
